ARS Curriculum and Lesson Plans
Since inception of the 1st Term each school has been running on an ARS derived bespoke curriculum. The curriculum is tailored to each schools strengths and weaknesses.
The curriculum is made-up of weekly lesson plans. A lesson plan is deployed weekly at each school. Only Masters may run a lesson plan and lesson plans are proprietary to the ARS. School coaches may not run a lesson plan. School coaches are encouraged to copy plans implemented on the field by the Master with their 2nd team and house teams.
Every player in the 1st team must complete the terms set of lesson plans. In the event a lesson plan is missed makeup classes must be arranged for such players/teams.
School coaches and players must regularly be informed by masters of 1. total number of lessons for the term, 2. number completed and 3. number uncompleted.
Failure to complete a lesson plan jeopardises the players or on some occasions’ team ability to:
1. Play in league matches
2. Receive Proficiency Badges
3. Receive Full or Half colours
4. Receive reward points
5. and others
Player Scholarship
Please be aware that players in the 1st Team are under the ARS scholarship scheme, hence the reason they don’t pay for their training by Masters. ARS selects players for the 1st team and determines who remains or departs from the 1st team.
School coaches can however select members of the 2nd Team, subject to approval by the Masters.
ARS has been investing in the players under the scholarship 1st team, for some players, for many years. In some cases from primary school. This investment in the player is planned to continue throughout their time at secondary school.
Only Masters determine the participants in the scholarship scheme.
1st Team Player List
1st team player list is altered weekly and posted on the school notice board and on the ARS website. 1st team list is produced by the Masters. Masters alone may train the 1st team list players. Masters may select players from the 2nd team or house team to join the 1st team.
2nd Team Player List
2nd team player list is altered weekly and posted on the school notice board and on the ARS website. 2nd team list is produced by the School Coaches but approved by the ARS Master. Masters or School Coaches may train the 2nd team list players.
Inter-House Teams
All schools have houses and each house is expected to have its own tag and/or contact team.
Online Tests (EDP) and Reward Points
Online theory tests, otherwise referred to as the Elite Development Programme, must be taken every two (2) weeks by all players. Reward points are awarded to players that take the tests. The reward points may be used on the online shop. See: https://www.allrugbyschools-edp.org/elite-development-program/ for the Elite Development Programme.
Suspension | Expulsion
School teams may be suspended or expelled for failure to comply with ARS rules and regulations. In the event of suspension teams may be recalled from suspension upon fulfilling the requirements set by the ARS.
The ARS is very strict in ensuring the scholarship programme is not taken for granted and abused otherwise it jeopardises the continued operation of the ARS.
Player Registration Forms enforcement
Only players with completed registration forms, parental consent and medical forms may be considered for the 1st or 2nd team. Please enforce this.
