The end of season masters dinner commences 2pm at Barcelos, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, Sunday, 25th June 2017.
It is exclusively for coaches that are registered with the ARS EDP.
The dinner shall consist of a formal three course meal.
Corona Gbagada retain the cup
Temple, Corona and Chrisland on the 17th of June 2017 met at the grounds of Chrisland School Opebi for the final time this year. Parents from Corona and Chrisland were there to mark the occasion.
All three schools engaged in two matches each. Unlike the previous matches these were low scoring games as it was clear neither was prepared to back down.
Temple Schools defence was simply dominant as Corona was unable to score a single try against them.
The Corona vs Chrisland match was nerve racking with Corona leading by just one point.
Chrisland gave everyone a fright when after playing against Temple they levelled the total scores with Corona (14 all).
There was no other choice, Corona and Chrisland had to go head to head again. It was nerve racking for coaches, parents and the players. In the end Corona came through narrowly with a one point lead.
We wish to congratulate all players, coaches and parents involved in making this terms league matches a success.

In summary after aggregating the points from the eight matches: Temple Secondary 25 points, Avi Cenna Secondary 19 points and BIS 10 points.
It was certainly a day to remember with the shock defeat of Temple by Avi Cenna in the opening match and defeat of Avi Cenna by the hand of BIS. Nnanna of Temple Sec singularly scored 5 tries against BIS.
The 2nd Teams were very impressive with the girls stealing the showing. Moroti Osoba of Temple scored a trie in every match she played and made quite a show of it to every ones delight. Chelsea Okafor was on fire scoring several tries as well.

Late arrival to training by players
It would be appreciated if players turn up for training on-time. Currently Masters (ie Coaches) are kept waiting for 30 minutes, sometimes 45 minutes. This is rather demoralising for the Masters and results in ill-disciplined players.
Going forward players should be on the field waiting for the Masters arrival.

Creation of new teams at Secondary and Primary Schools
New teams are being vreated at Primary and Secondary Schools in response to the need to create continuity once the senior teams pass out from school. These new teams shall train on the same days and times as the senior team.
The new teams are as follows:
2nd XII Primary School Tag Rugby Team - consisting of year 3s and 4s
2nd XII Secondary School Tag Rugby Team - consisting of year 7s and 8s

A girls only tag rugby team is now available for girls in year 10 and above.

Male Year 10s can now sign up for contact rugby. Each player must complete a player registration, consent and medical details form. Insurance and tackle kit shall be made available, courtesy of MyFamily Mobile, our sponsors. Players must however acquire their own gum shields which are necessary.
